We’re going to support ‘Hope for the Orphans’

We’re going to give out clothes to children in Kamuli in September, to support Hope for the orphans-uganda. This young organisation was started by a group of dedicated Ugandans who currently support 37 children and foster families. Their main focus is to provide education & basic needs, such as schoolmaterials, medication and clothing. The children who are selected to receive their support, have lost their parents and/or depend on medical care. The children live with their (foster) families around kamuli and with the help of Hope for the Orphans they all get access to education. The organisation receives support from the local municipality and they also have their own small piggery farm which provides a small income. Furthermore, financial support comes from friends / family and the organisers themselves.

Hope for the Orphans asked Light up Uganda for support. We will donate all the clothes that were given to Light up Uganda in the past year (and finally arrived in Uganda!) to the children of Hope for the Orphans. We’re currently collaborating to organize an event for the children. We’re looking forward to it!

At this moment, we can only accept clothing donations in Uganda. If you are in Uganda, and have clothes for children between 4 and 14 years, send us a pm, we will be happy to pick it up! Other donations such as school materials, books, matresses, bedsheets or funds are also welcome!
